study the Bible

No matter where you are on your journey with God it's important to spend time with His life changing words. But I know that just picking up a Bible and figuring out a place to start can be intimidating and hard. I'm hoping that the resources on this website will help you get started. I promise that once you dig in God will show you, teach you and help you find the way to His truth, His grace, and His peace.

Intro to the Bible

Below is an image created to help break the Bible down into it's different sections for easier reading:

  1. Law or Torah - written by Moses establishes creation, and lays the foundation for Jewish law and God's covenant with the Jewish People.

  2. History - written by a variety of people gives historical truth to God's character and how He interacts with His people. It also allows us to look back at Jesus' ancestory.

  3. Wisdom Literature - written by a variety of people uses poetry and prose to teach everyday life lessons.

  4. Prophets major and minor - written by their books titular, for example Daniel wrote Daniel. These prophets left us messages of hope through their own stories. Several prophesying of the Messiah's coming.

  5. Gospels - tell the story of Jesus, different yet in harmony with each other. The Gospels take you through Jesus' birth, life, and resurrection. They show His humanity and His divinity.

  6. Acts - attributed to Luke gives us the history of the Church, introduces Paul, and tells stories of what happened to the disciples as they set out to share the Gospel with the World.

  7. Letters - the first 13 traditionally attributed to Paul. These letters give advise to the Church and how Christians should live under God's new covenant.

  8. Revelation - Prophetic book written by John about the end times, but also reminds us that Jesus wins.
